Finance and Revenue Strategy Advisory Council

 

Composed of business and nonprofit leaders, our finance and revenue strategy advisory board works directly with the Executive Director and CFO to collaborate on directions and strategy for fundraising and new sources of revenue. We are looking for individuals with significant experience in business, finance, CSR, or nonprofit fundraising and leadership to join this council. This council meets monthly.

 

Corporate Partnership Advisory Council

 

Composed of leaders in the corporate and nonprofit space, this advisory council works directly with the Executive Director and the board of directors to develop partnerships with corporations, including developing programs to attract corporate partners. We are looking for individuals with significant experience in client development, CSR, event management, and fundraising to join this council. This council meets monthly.

 

Brand DEVELOPMENT Advisory Council

 

Composed of marketing experts, this council works directly with the board of directors to develop The City Tutors’ message, including strategizing social media and website presence. We are looking with individuals with significant experience in social media, marketing, and communication to join this council. This council meets monthly.

 

Advisory Council to the City Tutors Program

 

Composed of education and nonprofit leaders, this council works directly with the Director of HR to strategize support for tutors and to develop tutoring programs. We are looking for individuals with significant experience in education and project management to join this council. This council meets monthly.

 

Advisory Council to the City Mentors Program

 

Composed of leaders and professionals from across industries, this council works directly with the Executive Director to attract mentors from all different professions to provide professional development support to our learners. We are looking for individuals with significant experience in their industry. This council meets monthly.

 

DATA & Technology Advisory COuncil

 

Composed of professionals in software engineering and computer science, this council works with both the Executive Director and the Director of HR to develop, refine, and maintain our online tutor portal. We are looking for individuals with significant experience in software engineering and computer science to join this council. This council meets weekly.

    Susan Chy served as the VP of People and Talent Acquisition at Elevation Capital. She serves on the Advisory Council to the City Mentors Program.

  • Wendell Moore

    Wendell Moore is a seasoned workforce professional and passionate advocate for mental health awareness, mentorship programming and school-based enrichment in communities of color. He has served in a leadership capacity at various family-focused organizations including Children’s Aid, YouthBuild USA, The Door, and Safe Space. He serves on the Finance and Revenue Council.

  • Rebecca Baum

    Rebecca Baum is a Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Riskified. She serves on the Corporate Partnerships Advisory Board.

  • Shelly Ann Richmond

    Shelly Ann Richmond is the Director of Liberty Partnerships Program at Pace University. She serves on the Advisory Council to the City Tutors Program.

  • Tom Kendall

    Tom Kendall is the CFO for The City Tutors. He previously served as the CFO for the Lymphadema Network and Russell Reynolds Associates. He is the director of the Finance and Revenue Council.

  • Matt Phifer

    Matt Phifer is the Vice President of Education and Employment for Henry Street Settlement. He serves on the Advisory Board to the City Tutors Program.

  • Deborah Friedman

    Deborah Friedman is the Assistant Commissioner of Workforce Engagement and Innovation at NYC Mayor's Office of Labor Relations. She serves on the Advisory Council to the City Mentors Program.

  • Scott Nitz

    Scott Nitz works as a Strategic ISV Lead for Google. He serves on the Advisory Council to the City Mentors program.

  • Ray Carbonell

    Ray Carbonell is the Global Chief Executive Officer at Qnary. He serves on the Brand Development Advisory Council.

    Ellen Brunsberg is the Chief Investment Officer at Cain International. She serves on the Finance and Revenue Strategy Board.

    Regina Sheridan is a VP of Social Responsibility at the Libra Group. She serves on the Corporate Partnerships Advisory Board.

  • Scott Milstein

    Scott Millstein has worked in a variety of senior leadership roles in the New York City nonprofit sector over the past 20 years. Most recently, he served as the Executive Director of the Coro New York Leadership Center, New York City’s premier leadership training program.
