FAQs

How are volunteers matched with a partner site?

We work with you to determine your availability, subject expertise, age group preference, and (when applicable) location preference. Based on those factors, we match you with one of our 35+ partner sites that meet those criteria.

I don’t have any experience tutoring. Can I still volunteer?

Yes! We offer a comprehensive training to all of our tutors, so that you can feel confident in your work with the students and maximize your tutoring hours.

I am a high school student. Can I still tutor?

Yes! Our tutors range in age from 15-75+ — we welcome all ages to lend their expertise to help students develop their academic skills.

What tutoring opportunities are available?

We have lots of tutoring opportunities available with all different types of partner sites, such as housing projects, job development corps, and after-school programs.
